While Diana was in Africa in August, after she finished guiding her conservation trip attendees, she made a special journey to VulPro to see the hard work and dedication they put into vulture rescue and rehabilitation.   Meeting the team was one of the highlights of the trip for her!  The knowledge and experience Kerri and the team at VulPro have surpasses even the loftiest expectations.  VulPro takes injured vultures from all over South Africa and, with their extensive rehab program, gives them a second chance at returning to the wild.

To support the hard work and take a bit of financial strain off, Veterinary Conservation Coalition adopted two young female vultures currently enrolled in VulPro’s rehabilitation program and named them Shikis and Gladys.

VulPro is an internationally recognized organization that focuses on vulture conservation. It conducts vulture rehabilitation, conservation breeding, education, and research. VulPro operates a vulture rescue program providing veterinary treatment and rehabilitation for injured vultures in South Africa.

The organization aims to address the severe decline of African vulture species through rehabilitation and release of injured vultures to establish new populations, as well as allowing the vultures in captivity to breed and be released into the wild.

VulPro is one of a kind in their innovative and successful approach to vulture conservation, and Veterinary Conservation Coalition is delighted to support them.
